Sheikha Nabila Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, a board member of the Kuwaiti Women's Associations Union, participated in the Women's Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the People's Republic of China.
Sheikha Nabila emphasized the Union's commitment to cooperating with various entities and institutions concerned with women's issues, both locally and internationally, to support Kuwaiti women in all fields.
She noted that representatives from member states of the organization, observers, dialogue partners, and leaders from 26 countries participated in the forum, which was jointly organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the All-China Women's Federation, and the Shandong Provincial Government.
She highlighted that the forum encourages collaboration among women's organizations and the exchange of ideas and experiences, especially given the significant global changes and the growing importance of economic globalization. She stressed the need to face challenges and make efforts to overcome them.
Sheikha Nabila pointed out the importance of discussing women's issues and exploring ways to empower women to seize available opportunities, enhance their ability to play an active role in all aspects of life, and take measures to eliminate all forms of discrimination while working towards gender equality to contribute to the implementation of the country's development plans.
She also emphasized the significance of cooperation to promote gender equality, increase women's participation in public and government life, foster women's entrepreneurship, and exchange information and research findings on protecting women's rights and legitimate interests, while promoting healthy lifestyles.
It is worth noting that Sheikha Nabila Al-Sabah represented the Kuwaiti Women's Associations Union at the forum, accompanied by the Union’s Technical and Educational Advisor, Abeer Al-Omiri.
