Dr. Haila Al-Mukaimi, a board member of the Kuwaiti Women's Associations Union, participated in the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum held in St. Petersburg, Russia, titled "Russian Women and Dialogue with the Arab World."
She emphasized the importance of dialogue based on shared values and traditions, aiming to preserve the common cultures between peoples.
In her speech at the forum, Dr. Al-Mukaimi stated that culture serves as an important gateway for industrial, commercial, economic, and social cooperation between countries, directly benefiting their populations.
She stressed the need to maintain a shared understanding between Arab and Russian cultures, noting that Russian women play a crucial role in advancing Russia's economy, holding key positions in sensitive sectors such as taxation, the central bank, banking, as well as in institutions responsible for shaping and implementing economic and financial policies.
Dr. Al-Mukaimi also highlighted that Russian women are known for their precision and productivity, excelling in fields like technology, industry, and space sciences. She pointed out that these fields are also priorities for Kuwaiti and Gulf women, making it essential to exchange knowledge and experiences with them.
She added that women have become key players in promoting sustainability and advancing eco-friendly industries, whose importance has increased due to climate change.
Dr. Al-Mukaimi explained that China, for example, has dominated light-tech industries, controlling half of the global market in this area. She emphasized the need to highlight these concepts among Kuwaiti women, given the changes in the Kuwaiti economy, which is shifting towards diversifying income sources, moving away from a monoculture economy, and focusing on the development of all members of society.
