The Kuwaiti Union of Women's Associations Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Its Counterpart from the United Arab Emirates

The Kuwaiti Union of Women's Associations and the General Women's Union of the United Arab Emirates have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation, exchange experiences, and build women's capacities to actively participate in society.

During the press conference held to announce the signing, the President of the Kuwaiti Union of Women's Associations, Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad, highlighted the deep bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, particularly in areas of cooperation that serve women and strengthen their role in society.

Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad explained that the MoU stipulates the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices in policy-making, program development, action plans, and legislation. It also includes the sharing of studies, documents, publications, information, research, and reports related to women's affairs.

She added that the agreement aims to organize training courses, seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as facilitate exchanges between officials, experts, and specialists. Additionally, it seeks to coordinate efforts and positions in regional and international forums and conferences, along with any other mutually agreed-upon activities.

Sheikha Fadia expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Emirati Women's Union, led by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, in serving Emirati women in particular and Arab women in general. She also expressed hope for further cooperation in all matters related to women's empowerment and their advancement to decision-making positions.

For her part, the Secretary-General of the Emirati Women's Union, Noura Al-Suwaidi, stated during the conference that the UAE and Kuwait share a rich and flourishing history. She emphasized that this agreement provides a comprehensive framework for joint work between the two women's unions in both countries to benefit women in Kuwait and the UAE.

Al-Suwaidi expressed her pride in signing the MoU with the Kuwaiti side, noting that Kuwaiti women have been pioneers in various fields and have played a prominent role in different aspects of development.

She further stated that the signing of this Memorandum reflects the commitment of both the UAE and Kuwait to supporting women and working hand in hand to develop proactive plans with a long-term vision. These initiatives, programs, and expertise will contribute to advancing social development for women in both nations.

She also expressed her pride in the deep-rooted and strong relations between the two countries, which share a rich history, a bright present, and a promising future. She looked forward to further strengthening harmony, integration, stability, prosperity, and progress under the wise leadership of both nations.
