Ceremony of honoring the participants in the Arab Women, Security, and Peace Conference.

The Chairwoman of the Kuwaiti Union of Women's Associations, Sheikha Fadyah Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, called for the need to unify the voice of women at the Arab level to pressure the relevant United Nations organizations to stop the aggression against the people of Gaza and begin peace negotiations to resolve the Palestinian issue.

This came in a speech by her Excellency during the honoring ceremony of the working committees in the regional conference on "Arab Women, Security, and Peace: Challenges Facing Women in the Arab World" today, Tuesday, organized by the Union with the participation of several high-level international figures, international organizations, and UN entities concerned with women's affairs.

Sheikha Fadyah expressed sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the conference organized by the Union of Women's Associations under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in cooperation with the Arab Women Organization, which was characterized by the highest levels of professionalism and received regional, international, and UN attention. It addressed armed violence against women, which is currently being experienced by Arab women, especially in Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, and other countries.

She stated, "Our goal is to raise the voice of Kuwaiti women and their position on what is happening in the world in line with the position of the political leadership in supporting the Palestinian right in Gaza and supporting women's rights everywhere in the world, and the armed violence against women in our various Arab countries."

For her part, the President of the Arab Women Organization, Dr. Fadia Kiwan, said in a televised speech that Sheikha Fadia left no opportunity to try to use it to increase pressure and mobilize energies and support for the cause of our brothers in besieged Gaza for more than eight months.

She pointed out the tragedy of the Palestinian people and the attempt to annihilate them, stressing the necessity of an Arab women's initiative carried out by women and not directly linked to political decisions, expressing full solidarity with women and girls in Palestine, and addressing women worldwide to be a unified voice demanding an end to the firing on Gaza and seeking a formula for a just and permanent peace in Palestine.

She explained that the initiative to honor the participants in the conference is to emphasize the importance of this step to press for the cessation of the ceasefire and the delivery of aid to Gaza, noting that the conference and the resulting correspondences, which were addressed to the UN Secretary-General, the President of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, and other international entities, contributed partially to stopping the ceasefire and starting to deliver urgent aid.

She emphasized the necessity of deepening the belief that when we come together, we become more capable of influencing, which is a renewed call from Sheikha Fadia to all of us not to stop at this point but to continue working to remain a pressing force for continuous pressure to stop the ceasefire and to have a UN initiative to start negotiations for a just and secure peace for the peoples of the region.

Kiwan added, "We must be the standard bearers for peace based on justice, whether in the Palestinian issue or in civil peace and negotiations between conflicting parties in any Arab country to reach a settlement in the issues that are the subject of dispute."

She called on women to work together with a sense of responsibility to bear part of the enormous responsibilities that fall on men in the Arab world, indicating that Arab women today are not seeking rights but are raising their voices demanding to bear part of the responsibility.
