Kuwaiti Women's Day

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, may God protect and preserve him, and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs, the Kuwaiti Union of Women's Associations held its annual celebration of Kuwaiti Women's Day. This celebration aligns with Kuwait's commitment to implementing the seventeenth global sustainable development goal

Sheikha Fadia Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the Chairperson of the Union, expressed her gratitude for the esteemed patronage of the celebration, which underscores His Highness the Amir's keenness to elevate the status of women and acknowledge their efforts and contributions. She added that celebrating Women's Day represents a bright milestone in the history of Kuwaiti women and coincides with the anniversary of the historic decree granting them political rights in voting and candidacy in 2005. This has been a significant milestone in Kuwait's history in general and, in particular, for Kuwaiti women.
