Kuwait's Ambassador to the Arab League, Talal Al-Mutairi, affirmed Kuwait's ongoing support for the Palestinians, noting that Kuwait has been at the forefront in calling for the boycott of Israel, the occupying force. Kuwait hosted in 1958 a conference of anti-Israeli entities in the Arab world.
This came in his participation via Zoom in the main session of the regional conference "Arab Women, Peace, and Security: Challenges Facing Women in the Arab Region", organized by the Kuwaiti Union of Women's Associations in cooperation with the Arab Women Organization affiliated with the League of Arab States under the patronage of Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya.
He mentioned that Kuwait contributed in 1964 to the opening of an office for the Palestine Liberation Organization on its territory and provided support to it to play a leading role in highlighting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
He referred to the speech of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad at the Cairo Summit for Peace, which called for rejecting any calls for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people and urged the international community to play its role in stopping military operations and providing protection for civilians in the Gaza Strip. This is a confirmation of the principled and consistent stance calling for Palestinian independence and the rightful return of the Palestinian people.
He affirmed that any talk of peace in the Middle East will not be realized without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem, noting that discussions of sustainable solutions will not be realistic without recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people, appreciating any efforts seeking to stabilize the Middle East.
